Also leads: The Data Engineering and Predictive Analytics (DEPA) Research Lab.
Recognition: US Black Engineer HBCU STEM Innovation Award; holds four U.S. patents.

Focus: Curriculum design, instructional leadership, teacher development, and AI literacy for K–12 classrooms.
Experience: 20+ years in public education, including two decades with Baltimore City Public Schools as a teacher and interventionist. Joined CEAMLS in 2023.
Education: B.A., Political Science (Morgan State); M.A., Legal, Ethical & Historical Studies (University of Baltimore).

Farhana Begum
K–12 Outreach Program Coordinator · Doctoral Researcher
Focus: The intersection of AI, engineering education, and transportation safety - with an emphasis on responsible, equitable, real-world AI.
Current research: Digital twins of connected and automated vehicles for intersection safety (a Morgan State–University of Maryland effort supported by the U.S. DOT); and a benchmark for evaluating AI hallucinations in technical applications.
Education: Pursuing a Doctor of Engineering (ECE, Morgan State); M.S., Data Analytics & Visualization (Morgan State, 2025). Affiliated with CEAMLS and the SMARTER Center.

Focus: Artificial intelligence and machine learning, with hands-on interest in applying them to real classroom tools.
On the team: Supports CECE Lab's K–12 outreach - helping run AI-literacy workshops and student events, and contributing to curriculum and demos.
