AI Debate Starter

Display an AI-generated image. Ask your class: "Is this art?" Watch the conversation explode — students will argue authenticity, creativity, and what it means to make something. No slides needed.

Display an AI-generated image to your class. Ask: "Is this art?" Encourage students to debate what creativity means and whether a machine can truly be creative. No materials needed — just a screen and a provocative question.
Have students submit their exit ticket to an AI chatbot, then ask it whether the response demonstrates understanding of today's lesson. Students compare the AI's feedback to yours — a powerful meta-learning moment in under three minutes.
Paste a vocabulary word into an AI chatbot and ask it to generate three analogies using things students already know — sports, food, games, etc. Read them aloud and vote on the best one. Instantly makes abstract terms concrete.
Generate three different story starters with an AI tool. Display all three to the class and have students vote on the best one, then explain why they chose it. Builds critical evaluation skills while sparking creative writing motivation.
Give an AI chatbot a confidently stated false statement — something related to your current unit. Show students how the AI responds. Does it correct the error, agree with it, or hedge? Leads to rich discussion about AI reliability and critical thinking.
Paste a paragraph from your reading material into an AI tool and ask it to rewrite the text at three different reading levels. Display all three side by side. Students can identify which version matches them — a powerful scaffold that takes four minutes to set up.
