Results
The CECE Lab hosted the first Human-AI Innovation Collaboration Challenge alongside the National Symposium on Effective and Ethical AI (NSEA) 2026. Students from across the region worked with mentors, faculty and industry professionals to turn ideas into working AI projects.

Thank you to our judges, mentors and staff, whose time and expertise made the challenge possible.
Teams were judged on innovation, likely impact on K–12 learning, technical build and the clarity of their demo. The top three teams won cash prizes of up to $2,500, and finalists joined the NSEA 2026 symposium.
How the challenge worked
| Who | Middle school, high school and college students, alone or in teams of 2 to 4. No AI experience required. |
